SOUTH BEND 290 BAMBOO FLY ROD, 7’6” Popular SB 290 from the 1970s, marked for a DT6 line, often fished with a WF5. Pleasant rod in the hand, durable construction—one of the very best 2/2 dry fly production rods from the mid-century years. This rod has the SB all-metal down locking reel seat with spacer anodized to a copper color. Grip is 6” cork with thumb relief, wraps are brown and black variegated, stripper is Mildrum, style, snakes are bronzed steel. The ferrules are 14/64” drawn with a rolled welt, made of SB “white metal” alloy. One tip could be a SB replacement or have a re-set tip-top. Comes with original marked bag and an after-market Champion aluminum tube.
