FIN-NOR ‘WEDDING CAKE” FLY REEL, SIZE #3 The Wedding Cake was one of the first dedicated salt water fly reels. This reel is 4” in diameter, spooling lines through 9wt comfortably. It is made from machined aluminum side plates anodized gold, bright aluminum pillars, and synthetic cork drag plate. The drag is actuated through a draw-bolt adjustment. Since their introduction in the 1960s, the Wedding Cakes have been notably successful salt water fly reels, withstanding the rigors of big fish, rough handling, and the corrosive marine environment. The condition of this one is very good used, showing some finish blemishes on the gold anodizing, especially on the rims. Drag and bushings are fine. Serial number is 593, marked Patent Pending. These reels offer a reasonably easy conversion RH/LH. Set up for LH wind now. The line guard has not been changed over to LHW, though.
