ORVIS “MIDGE” BAMBOO FLY ROD, 7’6” FOR A 5wt This is the Orvis Midge model, 7’6”, 3 5/8 ounces, marked for a 5wt.  Serial number is 58372.  Condition is excellent with Orvis down-locking reel seat over hardwood, 6” cork, hook keeper, Carboloy stripper, bright snakes, darkened step-down ferrules, original bag and tube.  Some slight roughness on the upper end of the cork grip. The Orvis impregnated finish is always attractive and reliable.  The midge model is slightly lighter at 3 5/8 ounces than the ever-popular 7’6” Battenkill at 3 7/8 ounces.  The action is a little softer than the Battenkill, with small flies and delicate presentations in mind.  This is an excellent all-purpose trout rod.
